What are the childcare places our community needs?

From April 2024 the government is funding the 2-year-olds of eligible working families to have 15 hours of free childcare each week for 38 weeks per year. From September 2025 this will increase to 30 hours per week.

Currently, eligible 2-year-olds can have 15 hours of free childcare each week, all 3- and 4-year-olds are funded for 15 hours a week over 38 weeks per year, regardless of parents’ income or working status (a ‘universal offer’), and eligible working families can have 30 hours for their 3-4-year-olds.

We are working out how to offer the newly-funded places so that we meet the needs of our community.

Please fill out this survey so that we can do our best to meet your needs.

When you submit your survey you will be redirected to the 'Join our schools' page which explains our current application process.

The criteria are not yet confirmed, but the government’s current definition of ‘eligible working families’ is households where either both parents/carers or the sole parent/carer earns more than £1,976 over a three-month period and less than £100,000 per year.
